Hand Poems

This piece started from examining an image impulse of a hand in a frame. With a minimal video tower, the piece glimpse into the impulse and reflects on the relationship of a part to the whole. By incorporating Edward Muybridge’s 1878 film ‘The Horse in Motion’ and Grant Wood’s 1931 painting ‘The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere’ the piece gathers its vocabularies by deconstructing them.
‘Hand Poems’ was created with support of Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation Founder’s Artist-in-Residence. It was performed as a part of ‘I Don’t Want To Interrupt You Guys’.
